The Ultimate Chicago Day Trip Intinerary!

HERE IT IS FOLKS!

My Chicago - one day travel diary!

Chicago is the perfect city for a day trip because there is so much to explore in walking distance! The windy city is SO much fun and has always had a place in my heart. For this travel diary I'm going to tell you all the fun and insta-worthy activities I packed into just one days time!

{as seen on instagram}

We started (per my request) hunting down the coffee shop that I got a glimpse of that was right down the street from my hotel. It was the CUTEST place ever - Dollop Coffee Co. I got the usual, vanilla iced coffee with soy milk and it was delicious. After taking a million pictures and furiously sipping my coffee we moved onto the next location, a little morning dessert fix!

Sprinkles cupcakes!

If you like cupcakes and want to try another delicious place, Magnolias is a must stop.

Next we shopped a little bit on Michigan Avenue! Some of my favorite stores are Zara, Topshop, Lush, Nordstrom, and of course the beautiful Burberry store (pictured below).

Post-shopping we headed over to Navy Pier because I have a ferris wheel obsession! I literally have a list of ferris wheels around the world that I want to ride - I'm obsessed with the beautiful view at the top and the overall experience of the ride. The Navy Pier ferris wheel was nothing short of amazing! The view of the city over the river was literally breathtaking, and honestly - the waiting in line part wasn't too horrendous. Definitely recommend this if you're heading to the city soon.

After our ferris wheel ride we decided it was time for lunch, but on our way we stopped at Stan's Donuts! My sister is a huge fan of donuts, and although I'm not really a huge fan of donuts myself, I had a bite of my sisters and it was DELICIOUS. This was a recommendation I received on Instagram so thank you!! Definitely worth the stop and an adorable atmosphere.

Our next expedition involved a quick nap and a quick not so glamorous (but very delicious) lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. Having a hotel at a good location in the city is very important because theres about a 9/10 chance you will want to nap/charge your phone/freshen up. So we did exactly that - and then headed to Lincoln Park!

After we walked through the zoo and saw a few beautiful glimpses of the city skyline over the river - we hunted down a cab and made our way to Millenium Park. This is where we saw the ever so instagrammed 'Chicago Bean' as well as the fountain with a face and some beautiful places to take pictures!

We ended our trip here - turning in because we were so tired from the weekend. Bur overall, I hope this guide helps out anyone who is passing through Chicago for the day, or maybe only has a few hours to explore. You can totally pack a lot of fun and sight seeing into a short period of time in Chi Town - even a cab ride is never longer than 10-15 minutes or so!

Check back next Wednesday for this outfit (and some exclusive photos from Lincoln Park) on the blog! I will link my romper, my sunnies, and my jean jacket!

Thanks For Reading!
xx, Adrienne
