JUMPING into summer

HELLOOOO Summer! Well, almost. I'm so in love with my find from Lilly for Target. The minute that the look book appeared on the website I fell for this jumpsuit. Of course, I wanted everything from Lilly for Target (who didn't?) but this was my #1. When I got to the store the racks were entirely EMPTY. I was devastated. I got some tips from a mom and her daughter to check out the dressing room for people putting back items that didn't fit, so that's where I went. We found a few things in a pile outside of the dressing room, but then a woman came out with this jumpsuit, and had obviously seen me staring because she handed it right to me and said, "This didn't work, you can try it on."
As you can imagine, I was pretty pumped. So of course I tried it on and it fit! So exciting. So here is some pictures of me in my favorite piece, paired with a white Kendra Scott necklace. Enjoy! :)

What did you get from Lilly for Target?

Prom Inspo vs. Reality

Hi guys! I decided to make a post about the inspiration pictures I used to get the hair and makeup looks that I wanted for my Junior prom. I wanted a classic updo, and some simple makeup that wasn't overdone. Below I have my inspo, and even further below that I have how it all turned out!

My hair inspiration I collected from pinterest:

For my makeup inspiration I used the one and only Carrie Underwood (mostly for eyes and lips), and also this video!

And here is how it turned out.....

A little pre-makeup mirror pic in my favorite southern shirt tank ever!

And here I am all put together!

Here are some links to some of the products that I used and loved: (ps I'm a HUGE fan of Too Faced)

This wonderful eye shadow primer
The lipstick that's always in my purse
My go-to mascara
A finishing powder I swear by
The best foundation EVER!

Critiques and tips:

I liked my makeup, the video I linked above really helped with my face makeup! I wish I would've done a little bit more with my eyes but I didn't have enough time to play around with eye shadows, and I also didn't want to look like I overdid it. I did practice a little bit the night before which I HIGHLY recommend doing because it helped me tremendously the next day when stress was in full force. It also helps to show your hairdresser pictures, especially if you want something extremely specific. Always speak up. My favorite place to get dance jewelry is Charming Charlie. It's pretty inexpensive, which is important since prom/homecoming jewelry is usually on the fancier side meaning it wont be worn frequently after the fact. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below. :)

How did you style your hair/makeup for prom?

Lilly in Lexington

After a lovely visit to University of Kentucky (college post to come), we decided to explore the gardens on campus.  Here are some shots taken by my wonderful best friend (I love them thank you!) in my new Lilly dress I bought at the store in Cincinnati on my way down to Kentucky.  Its so cute and comfy, and one of the newest arrivals of the summer line. Links below to shop what I'm wearing.

Currently Craving: Birkenstock Sandals

So right now at the top of my wish list are Birkenstocks! I have been seeing pictures all over pinterest, and even looked at a few styles at my local Nordstroms, and I am definitely a big fan. I picked a few of my favorite pictures to show some different ways I thought was cute to style them!
Love this casual look with jeans.

She styled this look so well - simplicity is key.

Thanks for reading!
